Here’s My Story

In 2018, following a life-changing trip to the Southern Rhône Valley, I dove headfirst into the wine industry. I moved to California’s Central Coast, leaving behind the corporate PR world for wine country living. As fate would have it, I met the love of my life working in a Paso Robles wine cellar that vintage. Marco, the Italian winemaking intern, who traveled from Sardinia to experience a Californian vintage. (Shout out to Google Translator for making our first dates possible!)

We’ve since worked in wine regions around the world, including McLaren Vale, Yarra Valley, Sardinia, Burgundy, and Napa Valley, too. And along the way, I picked up my WSET3 certification and a roster of wine marketing clients including Viña Montes, Purple Brands, and more. 

But the real fun began in 2023 when Marco and I took the first step to making our dream of having our own winery come true. After months of preparation, we planted our first vineyards in Sardinia! With the help of family and friends, we planted around 2.5 hectares with three indigenous Sardinian grape varieties: Arvesiniadu, Bovale, and Cannonau. 

And if that weren’t enough, I’m working on launching my own wine imports business called New Road Selections to bring my favorite wine discoveries to America. 

For years, I captured my wine adventures on my blog, Palm & Vine, but life has changed and I have, too. I kissed the old blog goodbye and launched Sip with Nik, where I hope you’ll join my wine journey that’s taken me from California to an island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea…and it’s only just beginning.
